Volkswagen Mexico agrees to a 6.5% salary increase with union
Volkswagen de México and its union reached an agreement in wage negotiations, with a direct increase of 5%, 1% to the savings fund and 0.5% in grocery vouchers, as well as two hundred fifty positions for improvised workers.
Thus, the strike called for August Eighteen, at 11:00 am, at the plant located in the municipality of Cuautlancingo is canceled.
The latest negotiations inbetween the company and the Independent Volkswagen Workers` Union of Mexico (Sitiavw), headed by Rey David García Avendaño, were held at the Secretariat of Labor and Social Security (STPS) in Mexico City .
According to the brief statement issued by the German rock hard, the commitment is made to strengthen the efficiency and productivity indicators, which generate the conditions for attracting fresh projects for the benefit of the company and its collaborators.
This agreement isurpasses Four.5% increase obtained in two thousand sixteen by the almost Ten,000 permanent workers, which was an overall increase of Four.5% and is the highest increase in the last seven years.
In 2010, they achieved 6.09%; In 2011, 6%; During two thousand twelve and 2013, reached 5%; while in two thousand fourteen it was Five.27% and in 2015, Sitiavw was given Four.5%.
Mario Bueno, a spokesman for the union, described the agreement as positive, exceeding expectations, since last Wednesday, they lowered their proposal from twelve to 9.5% and the company enhanced its counterproposal from two to Two.Five percent.

Very first, on behalf of all of the members of Local 42, I would like to thank you for the outstanding comments and questions while we were in RB1 on August 8th. One of the most significant points made that day, is that Local forty two wants to be part of the solution in Chattanooga. We believe that with our voices involved in the decision making process here at Volkswagen, our work environment will improve, our quality will improve, and our processes will improve; dramatically, and in brief order. We have an chance to work together to make our plant successful, but that will only happen when we have a true voice in the process.
Local forty two is asking all Volkswagen team members to get involved; attend Local forty two Union meetings, talk to your Local forty two elected leaders and members, and ask what help is needed to get the entire plant organized. Working together here in Chattanooga, we will achieve our purpose of a contract for our plant.
