Which Cars Have Wireless Charging for Your Smartphone?

Who wants to deal with cables and USB ports nowadays? This is the future, meaning a lot of your gadgets can be charged wirelessly by induction. We’re not talking about magic here, but instead Qi and Airfuel wireless charging, which is showcasing up in more and more cars.
The following cars feature wireless charging right from the factory, but other automakers suggest the feature as a dealer installed add-on, like with the fresh Honda Civic and Honda Accord. [Note: Honda Canada offers Qi right from the factory, but in the U.S., it`s a dealer add-on that`s not available across the country.] Of course, to use this handy feature, you need a Qi (pronounced chee) compatible device. Some phones, like the Google Nexus lineup and the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 have wireless charging capabilities, but older ones like a Galaxy Note four might not. Unluckily, iPhones aren`t tooled to be charged wireless and need a special case to make it compatible.
Cadillacs
The latest Cadillacs, including the CT6 sedan and XT5, suggest Powermat wireless charging as standard equipment. The Escalade also throws in wireless charging as a standard feature, while the ATS and CTS suggest it on higher trim levels.
Chevrolet Volt
Chevrolet’s extended range electrical vehicle is a haven for techies and offers wireless charging. While base LT models don’t come with the feature, the Premier trim level does.
Chevrolet Impala
The Impala doesn’t suggest wireless charging as standard equipment, but instead offers it with the Technology Package for 2LT models and Advanced Technology Package on LTZ models.
Chevrolet Malibu
Fully loaded Chevrolet Malibu Premier models come standard with wireless charging, while LT models suggest it with the Convenience and Technology Package.
Chevrolet Cruze
The refreshed Chevy Cruze will suggest wireless charging, tho’ it`s not clear which trim level will include it, or if the feature is a part of an extra cost package.
Chevrolet Camaro
For a muscle car, the fresh sixth-generation Camaro is total of tech. SS and LT models of both coupes and convertibles can have wireless charging when the Convenience and Lighting Package is added on by buyers.
GM SUVs
The body-on-frame SUVs from the various General Motors brands (Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac) all suggest wireless charging. The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban suggest wireless charging as part of the Luxury Package available on 1LT models. The GMC Yukon and Yukon XL equip wireless charging on Denali trim models.
GM Pickups
The half-ton and heavy-duty pickup trucks from Chevrolet and GMC suggest wireless charging on several models, mid-trim models. Interestingly enough, the automaker doesn’t suggest the feature on the fresh Canyon or Colorado yet.
Toyotas (Prius, Avalon, Land Cruiser and Tacoma)
Many of Toyota’s fresh models including the two thousand sixteen Avalon, Camry, Prius, Land Cruiser and Tacoma suggest Qi wireless charging, albeit only the Land Cruiser features it as standard equipment. For the Avalon XLE, Touring and Limited models have wireless charging. The Camry Special Edition and higher and while Tacoma TRD Sport or higher models feature the technology. Prius Threes and higher have wireless charging as well.
Lexus NX and LX
Toyota has extended the availability of wireless charging to its luxury brand Lexus. The NX and LX models both suggest the feature as an option from the factory.
BMW seven Series
The BMW seven Series is not only one of the most high-tech vehicles available, but it comes with wireless charging as standard equipment. What else would you expect from an $80,000 flagship sedan?
Hyundai Ioniq
Hyundai has announced that its Prius fighter, the Ioniq, will suggest wireless charging as an optional add-on from the factory on all three variations of the car (hybrid, plug-in and electrical).
Genesis G90
The very first car from Hyundai’s Genesis luxury brand, the G90 will also suggest wireless charging, which is again something to be expected in a high-end flagship sedan.
