Bitcoin Summer School Announced in Greece
Recall when you used to fear going to summer school? Well, now you can get excited to get that extra educational thrust by attending the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) Bitcoin School in Greece. From May 29th to June 2nd, two thousand sixteen some of the brightest academic minds in the industry will be instructing students distributed ledger technology.
We`re running the very first summer school on blockchains and cryptocurrencies. We have a fine program lined up for 2016. We`re excited to welcome the leading experts on blockchains from industry and academia.

Bitcoin Summer School
Held in Corfu, Greece, at the elegant Corfu Imperial Hotel, the schooling will be focused on helping “bridge the gap inbetween the cryptocurrency community and academia.”
This will be the very first summer school on blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. IACR is thrilled to host the event with many leading experts from academic backgrounds and executive positions in the industry. The school says it welcomes any student, researcher or professional that’s interested in this disruptive tech to join the classes in Greece. The conference will have an array of speakers including, Jerry Brito from Coin Center , Joseph Bonneau from Stanford University, Rainer Böhme from the University of Innsbruck, Nic Cary from Blockchain.info , and many more innovators.
The event is sponsored by Openbazaar , Frostwire, IACR, and PJTech Catalyst . The conference founders look forward to hosting the event that will take research and education in this field to an academic level. The founders of the summer school are Foteini Baldimitsi from Boston University, Aggelos Kiayias from the Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Sarah Meiklejohn from UCL. All of the creators of the school program have strong backgrounds in computer science, security, and telecommunications.
The Corfu Imperial Hotel is located near the Kommeno peninsula and is surrounded by a vast array of gardens along the shore. Just most of the technology in the industry is open source the school says it is also supportive of open skill.
“ Summer school material will be published under a Creative Commons Four.0 license, ” the organizers say. The program hopes to embark a trend of learning about “cryptographic e-cash to modern cryptocurrencies.” Registrations will open in March, and the founders say the event is still welcome for more sponsors to help with this program.
More and more positive influence from academia is joining in on this revolutionary technology. Just recently Princeton University has exposed its 300+ page textbook on Bitcoin and other schools are hopping on the bandwagon as well. It`s an arousing time for all these fresh financial devices, educational events and resources are helping build a better understanding of them.
