2017 Honda Civic Type R: five Awesome Stuff About It
Here are five awesome things about the two thousand seventeen Honda Civic Type R which makes it one of our beloved fresh launches of the year.
Honda approached the testing and tuning of the Type R with the Nürburgring track as the proving grounds. Now, that’s not something which will do down well with Mr. James May. But he’ll certainly take a liking for the fresh suspension setup, the revised steering system and the upgraded components. All of them were integrated into the Honda Civic Type R based on the testing conducted at “The Ring”.
A directed-injected, turbocharged, Two.0-liter i-VTEC engine built in Ohio, inserted into a car manufactured in Swindon. So, what do you think it’s like? Belting out all of three hundred six hp of power and two hundred ninety five lb-ft of torque, this is one mighty dragon heart which drools out fire. That’s going to burn the competition a lot in all the right places. All that you need to do is pick one of the three driving modes and head out for the hunt.
- Manual for All Seasons
The two thousand seventeen Honda Civic Type R comes with a brief throw 6-speed manual gearbox and Honda gets a pat on the back, a knuckle bump and a bear hug for taking that route. The sheer thrill of shifting gears and milking an engine through a manual transmission case is something which should be a part of a car like this.

The packaging is pretty good on this one. The two thousand seventeen Honda Civic Type R looks devilishly stylish with all the air dams, front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, that massive spoiler and those three harass pipes at the back. Black 20-inch aluminum alloys shod with high-performance tires and 4-piston Brembo brakes with 350mm discs at the front and 305mm discs at the back have the go to supplement the display. The interior is noisy and sporty with the red-and-black color combination. Aluminum is also part of the interior trim and does its share of highlighting duties. The infotainment system is fantastic too.
- A Lot to Brag About
Upon making its US debut, the two thousand seventeen Honda Civic Type R will become the quickest, fastest and the most powerful Honda car on sale in the USA. It also takes the tag of being the very first R-badged Honda car to be sold here with sales to embark from late spring 2017. Honda is yet to announce the exact pricing. But they have indicated that it will fall in the mid-$30k range.
